Heritage Junction/Signs: Paul provided us with two samples from which to
choose. He will order the preferred one.
Water supply to the canyon; incoming is adequate but Mike Shuman,
Paul Kreutzer and Dick perkins are working on providing pn site plumbing. ·
Adobe; To decide how to restore the stone fireplace, Pam had intended to ask
Viola Peterson if she could remember.but was told that Viola had recently
passed away. (A Sympathy card was sent by Paul on behalf of the Society.) Pam
will access family albums instead.
Ramona Chapel; The roof combs are off and being painted. Almost ready to start
the interior.
Restoration Shed; almost complete- the electric is in.· This will be used to
store all the tools used in restoration projects. It is movable and can be
placed near the current project.
Station; Mike reported on the Calif. Retired Teachers' Ass'n meeting- They
donated $25.00.
Requsts were discussed; 1. Red Cross Health Fair, for children in the
immediate area of Newhall from the ages of 3 to 15 on Sept. 8th. M/S/P
In favor.
2. LA. County Parks & Rec. Crafts class, 45 children
3 days a week. M/S/P to deny request
3. Mike recommended that we provide Norm Phillips
of County Parks & Rec. with a key to the Station for emergencies. Paul
sugessted that it be restricted for Norm's use only because of potential
liability. M/S/P Alarm key and Door Key be issued to Norm Phillips.
4. M/S/P that we replace broken glass in case
0 in waiting room be replaced with Safety glass, not to exceed $175
5.M/S/P Hart Park to borrow 100 chars for thier
"Shakespear in the Park" program.
Locomotive; Norm Harris spoke with the inpector, will be available the last
weekend in July. The charges for the tranportation and disposal of the asbestos
was $450 but should have been only $150. The contractor will check into it.
M/S/P that we pay the bill if the final charges do not exceed $200
Volunteers; Glen advised us that he had only on response from the request in
the newsletter. The next Volunteer Recognition Dinner is scheduled for Feb. 13, 1990
Membership Outreach; Bill Flayer reported on the status of the Handout Displays
and reported that letters had been sent to 65 new homeoners.
Publicity; Sandra Forbes advised us that she had already arranged to have
the Signal report on the aquisition of the new engines and flat cars and will
relase the story irnmediatly after the meeting. She is also palnning articles
on Outreach, "Chiken Eleanor", the Ice Cream Social and the Tapestry.
Library; Sanmee Ziele is going to try to get micorfilm of the Signal back to
1919 for our library.
Newsletter; We are loosing our editor, Betty Twigg who is moving.

City of Santa Clarita Master Plan; Our budget and requst for funds is on the
