The Daily Alta California of September 15, 1860, reported the murder of the station
keeper:
“The driver of the stage which arrived from St. Louis this morning, reports the station
keeper at Hollandsville Station, and a friend who was stopping with him, were both murdered
on Wednesday morning by three Mexicans.”
