Canyon High School Under Construction
Canyon Country, California

Signal archive photos, 2x2-inch negatives, photographer unknown.

November 19, 1967 — We don't know how they calculated it, but Canyon High School is about 13 percent complete in this series of photographs, according to a story in The Signal on November 20, 1967 (below).

The story dealt with certain Sand Canyon parents (one in particular) who predicted there would be a "disastrous social situation" if their children were forced to attend a high school that drew primarily from North Oaks. Not one of the SCV's finer moments.

Canyon High School opened for the 1968-1969 school year with 10th and 11th graders.
