Santa Clarita Public Library Strategic Service Plan, 2011-2014.

The Santa Clarita City Council adopted its first Santa Clarita Public Library Strategic Service Plan July 12, 2011. The initial plan covered the period 2011-2014.

Background: On October 12, 2010, the City Council approved the creation of a Citizens Public Library Advisory Committee and on November 23, 2010, appointed thirty-seven people, representing a cross-section of the community to the committee. The committee was tasked with conducting a community needs assessment and developing a long-range strategic plan facilitated by an expert in the area of public library needs assessments and strategic planning. The committee met over the duration of seven months to develop the City of Santa Clarita's first-ever library strategic plan for the newly formed Santa Clarita Public Library.
