Roy Rogers in "Down Dakota Way"

Roy Rogers stars in 1949's "Down Dakota Way" from Republic Pictures, partially filmed at the Walker Ranch in Placerita Canyon. (Locations also include Lake Sherwood in Thousand Oaks and Corriganville in Simi Valley.) Roy's horse Trigger gets second billing; his wife Dale Evans, third (as usual).

"Down Dakota Way" also features future Agua Dulce resident Montie Montana and the Riders of the Purple Sage. Plus: Pat Brady, Elisabeth Risdon, Byron Barr, James Cardwell, Roy Barcroft, Emmett Vogan and Foy Willing.

Uncredited cast includes Rogers' stunt double, Joe Yrigoyen; and Gertrude Astor, Victor Cutler, Joe Gilbert, George LaMond, Johnny Paul, Darol Rice, Suzanne Ridgway and Al Sloey.

"Down Dakota Way" premiered in U.S. theaters September 9, 1949.
