Agua Dulce, California

Arnold Schwarzenegger walks butt-naked into the Desert Star nightclub in the opening scene of "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines" (Warner Bros. 2003) and forces a male stripper to hand over his clothes.

Actually the Desert Star is the Sierra Inn, a bar and restaurant at 13800 Sierra Highway in Agua Dulce, north of Davenport Road and just south of the community of Sleepy Valley.

T3 premiered in Westwood on June 30, 2003. In this set of photos, shot almost exactly one year earlier — June 28, 2002 — the Sierra Inn is being transformed into the Desert Star. Set decoration included, most notably, the installation of a neon sign in front of the bar, near the roadway; and a crude, wood-sided and -roofed entryway that was attached to the front-middle of the stucco building.

The Sierra Inn was used for exteriors; interiors were shot on a sound stage.
