Johnny Mack Brown costars with Raymond Hatton in the rather late buddy picture from Monogram, 1947's "Code of the Saddle."
Filming locations include the Walker Ranch, Andy Jauregui Ranch and the Monogram Ranch (later called Melody Ranch), all in Placerita Canyon. This lobby card shows
a scene at Ernie Hickson's Monogram Ranch.
Stamped imprint at bottom right identifies this 11x14-inch lobby card as property of National Screen Service Corp., which distributed advertising materials for the studios —
until 1943, when it was sued for monopolizing the market. Afterward, it contracted with independent regional exhibitor exchanges. In this instance, according to a stamp on the back,
our lobby card was provided to movie theaters in and around Pittsburgh by PGH Poster Exchange, 308 Van Braam St., Pittsburgh.
"Code of the Saddle" also features Riley Hill,
Craig Duncan and
Gary Garrett. Uncredited cast includes Fred Aldrich,
Boyd Stockman and
Jack Tornek. Monogram regular Harry Neumann is the cinematographer.
