Ruiz Cemetery, San Francisquito Canyon
March 9, 2002 — According to the inscription on her grave marker, Niebes Ruiz was born in 1794 and lived a remarkable 110 years. However, her great-granddaughter Michelle Nuñez reports that birth records show she was actually born about 1812. Regardless, the Ruiz family came to San Francisquito Canyon in the mid-1800s, operated a farm and left a legacy through numerous descendants.
