to call at 2:00 for updates. Price gouging has been reported.
Groceries - All Hughes Markets open, Lucky to re-open 1 Sav-on Drugs open.
Condemnation - Rueben Barrera reported on the process to close a building. Inspector goes into
building, if building is obviously a hazard and unsafe, a notice is posted on the building. At least
ten commercial buildings are in bad shape. Lots of minor damage to commercial buildings.
Mobilehome parks have major damages. If a person in a single resident feels they may have
major damage, they are to call EOC and it is reported to inspectors who will investigate the
damage. 63 units apartment building in Newhall has been claimed unsafe and is posted.
Edison will turn off power to those buildings who have been condemned.
Retroactive Code - Fire Chief Gary Nelson -- list of things going to be going through in the City
should consider a one step process. Fire department and Edison ready to help. Edison also will
help anyone who has lost a building and will rebuild.
Future Emergency Preparedness - Will be demobilizing over the next few days and what steps
do we need to take to do this. Is it going to be any different next time? Post meeting will be held
to access what has happened.
FEMA - FEMA needs estimated figures to allocate monies to this City. Need estimates as soon
as possible.
