Sheriff's Posses
The Sheriff's Posse was conceived and organized right after Pearl Harbor for
purposes of Civilian Defense. Training an_d supervision is directly under a
captain from the Sheriff's office. Each posse has a deputized civilian com-
mander working under the captain's direction. These groups listed herewith
consist of over 300 trained men available at a moment's notice in case they
are needed for any major disaster.
