SPRR Section House, Other Structures on Soledad
Acton, California

Homes along Soledad Canyon Road, south of the intersection of Soledad and Crown Valley Road, looking south. Southern Pacific Railroad section house is at left; longtime Acton resident Tom Haile's house is at right. Photographed by Don Milburn as a child, from the house where he grew up in the 1950s. See purple area of map below.

According to Milburn (pers. comm. 2017): "I took this picture in the 1950s with my little Kodak box camera, from our home. It shows the side of Tom Haile's home and the garage of the Paridiso home [SPRR section house] at far left. The garage is the common item in this picture and [this photograph]. Mt. Gleason is in the background."

North is at top. Purple area is location of structures in photograph. Click image to enlarge; click here for wider area view. (Ed: Layered Photoshop file on server.)
