Sutters Pointe.

Located southeast of Bouquet Canyon Road in Saugus near Urbandale, the Sutters Pointe development took orders for new homes in 1978 and 1979 but was only partially built by 1980 when Crocker Bank foreclosed on developer George Phillips, who was eventually charged with 51 counts of forgery and grand theft. In some instances he allegedly took payments that never were deposited into escrow accounts. Phillips pleaded to one count of grand theft and received a suspended sentence because he had leukemia, from which he died in 1984. The tract was eventually completed.
