NEWHALL: A History and Description of Newhall, California

Webmaster's note: The first comprehensive history of the Santa Clarita Valley was compiled in 1940 by Mary F. Brunner, the Newhall Branch Librarian, with assistance from Lois Goddard and Catherine Greening. They assembled a massive text in six volumes, primarily consisting of information provided directly by the various agencies and instutions that were the subject of the history. The reader should be aware that "Newhall" in the title refers either to the entire SCV or to the jurisdiction of the branch library, which was the same thing. The term, "Santa Clarita Valley," hadn't yet been invented. Watch for this index to expand as we digitize additional subsections.
