The ISP office staff and student volunteers will be selling Miso Soup and Rice balls and will be drawing and giving away Japanese calligraphy upon request. 100 percent of the money collected from the sale will go to the American Red Cross Japan Relief Fund.
The devastation following Japan’s 9.0 earthquake and the tsunami that followed did not affect only those in Japan; it hit home right here at COC. Several Japanese exchange students attend COC, and all of them were shocked and saddened by the news.
News of the strongest earthquake ever recorded in Japan’s history hit airwaves around the world. Although more than 5,500 miles separates Japan from California, many were still concerned about the events occurring in Japan.
