Cougars Men’s Soccer Looks to Advance Toward Finals

The sixth seeded Cougars have a tough road ahead. After a home win against No. 9 Palomar, the Cougars went on the road to upset No. 3 Cerritos and came roaring back against No. 2 Santa Ana, scoring 3 goals within the last 7 minutes of the game. The season did not start off the way they wanted with 6 wins and 5 losses and 2 ties but an amazing 10 game win streak has led them to playing in the state finals.

Cougars Move On In Playoffs With Win Against Cerritos

Nearly one year to the day, the College of the Canyons men’s soccer team has mirrored last season’s squad. Now the trick is to end the similarities. The No. 6 College of the Canyons Cougars advanced to the Southern Califonia regional finals on Tuesday, defeating No. 3 Cerritos Falcons 2-1 in a physical road game.

One year removed from an improbable run through the Southern California Regional Soccer Playoffs, the College of the Canyons men’s soccer team started their 2010 playoff campaign in the same fashion as last year, with a dominating home performance.

COC’s Men’s Soccer Team will Host Palomar in the First Round

The College of the Canyons Men’s Soccer is poised and ready to make a run deep into the Southern Regional playoffs. COC earned a NO. 6 seed and will host NO. 11 seed Palomar College on Saturday at 4 p.m. at Cougar Stadium. After seven consecutive victories to finish the 2010 season, the Cougars (13-5-2, 9-3-2) finished in third place in the Western State Conference behind Oxnard and Santa Barbara. Palomar (11-6-4, 7-3-2) finished second in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference after winning 2 of their last 4 games.

Cougar Soccer Remains Undefeated with Win over Taft

In a game that some called the biggest in program history, the College of the Canyons Cougars men’s soccer team more than delivered. The Cougars used two first half goals to propel themselves past defending state runner-up Taft College, 2-1 on Tuesday night in a rare night game at Cougar Stadium.

COC Soccer Teams Kick The Season Off on a High Note

It only took the Lady Cougars three minutes to get rid of the bad taste of last season as they scored early to beat the Victor Valley Rams 1-0 Friday in their first game of the new year. The Cougar men’s Soccer team got off to a strong start towards another successful season by demolishing the Victor Valley Rams 4-0 Friday.
