Eight College of the Canyons baseball players were honored with All-Conference awards. Sophomore short stop Juan Perez and freshman catcher Michael Browne were honored with first team All-Conference accolades. Perez was also named the 2011 Western State Conference Player of the Year, the first time a COC player has one the award since Trevor Bloom in 2009.

The College of the Canyons softball team had eight players named to the Western State, Blue Division All-Conference team with one player being named to the All-Southern California team.

The College of the Canyons softball team lost its first Western State Conference game of the season with a 9-1 loss against Citrus in game two of a double header, after a 3-2 win in game one.

College of the Canyons prepares to open the gates at Cougar Stadium for the first time in 2010 Saturday night. The Cougars will host Citrus, a team the Cougars beat in their last contest back in 2006. COC comes into the game ranked No. 12 in Southern California, while Citrus appears in the rankings for the first time since 2007 at No. 20. Jason Galvin has the preview.

COC baseball ended their regular season at home today with a thrilling walk-off single to beat Citrus College 15-14.

The Cougar bats came alive Saturday as they destroyed the Citrus Owls 19 to 8 in a battle for first in the Western State Conference.
COC started the game off with a bang, hitting four homeruns and scoring eleven runs in the first two innings alone. Cougar Center Fielder Cal Vogelsang added two more homeruns with a grand slam in the bottom of the third inning and another solo shot in the bottom of the seventh.

Thursday with vengeance on their mind. The Lady Cougars were 0-2 against the Owls this season after being swept in a double header at Citrus, but had the momentum going in after two big wins against Santa Monica last week.
