Newhall Sheriff's Deputy John S. "Jack" Pilcher (left) and the local "dry squad" show off a bootlegger's still they found in a local canyon (probably San Francisquito) during Prohibition, circa 1924. The dry squad was headed by Officer James Bond, seen at right.
