Bruce Robert Krudis
Administrative Director, Acton Rehab

Bruce Robert Krudis was born March 30, 1940 in the Bronx, New York, and passed away just before midnight on May 21, 2016 at home while on hospice care. His parents were the late William (Phillip) and Ethel Krudis. He has one younger sibling, Marilyn. When Bruce was age 6 the family moved to David Ave. in West Los Angeles where he enjoyed his families many friends and his Aunt Clara and Uncle Sam and cousins Joel, Shelley and Elliott Reims. Friday night family dinners were noisy and well-attended by friends of the family. Bruce was active in sports as a child, excelling in baseball and football. He and playmates (especially his first cousin Joel) got into lots of trouble with typical boy antics and he spoke about all they did often when reminiscing. Bruce and Joel shared a double bar mitzvah at age 13. He attended Hamilton High School and Santa Monica Jr. college before attending U.C.L.A. where he graduated with a P.hd. in Clinical Psychology. He married his first wife Sally and to them a son was born, David Eric Krudis in 1967. He married Bonnie (nee Dawson) in 1969. To them a son was born, Todd Robert William Krudis, in 1971.

Bruce worked for Los Angeles County (Health Services Department) at the Antelope Valley Rehabilitation Centers for about 30 years before retiring. His position there was Administrative Director. The AVRC's were the county's Alcohol and Drug Treatment facilities headquartered in Acton, CA.

Bruce enjoyed coaching little league and going camping with family and friends. He read non-fiction, current events, liked to dance, played golf and enjoyed going to the gym and working out regularly. He especially loved attending and entertaining the spin class. He made many friends wherever he went. Bruce and Bonnie (sometimes with the kids) enjoyed traveling many places including Yellowstone, New York, Las Vegas, Florida, South Carolina, Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Mexico, Hawaii, Bonnie's relatives in the Midwest, and cruises to Alaska, Panama and the Caribbean. The family remembers outings to the parks of Encino, Vasquez Rocks, and to the beach and amusement parks. Bruce and Bonnie would go to Cambria and Ventura beaches for their anniversary and to San Diego. In later years he discovered the location of his cousins on the Krudis family side in New York and they became good friends as well.

In the days before his passing special dear friends and family visited regularly, this meant so much to him. He leaves behind his wife of 46 years Bonnie; sons David and Todd Krudis; Sister Marilyn Kaplan (Ernie), nieces Laura and Jennifer and their families, cousins Joel & Kathy Reims and children, Shelley Pusich and daughter, and Elliott & Nancy Reims, Phil & Annette Krudis & children, Kenny Sr.Krudis and family, Joe and Sharyn Krudis & family, in-laws Linda & Ray Sams & family, Judi & Bill Faunce & family .
