Angelina (Ann) DiCorpo


Angelina DiCorpo, 91, of Santa Clarita, CA passed away on December 27, 2015. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on December 29, 1924 to the late John and Mary Gallicchio.

She was the youngest of nine children. She lived in a three story, brick row house in South Philly. By the time Ann was born, some of her siblings had already left home. As each left home to start their own families, they settled within a few blocks of each other and where a very close-knit family.

Ann met her husband, Tony, when he was in the Navy stationed in Philadelphia. After a three-month courtship, they were married on July 14, 1946. Tony brought her back to California where they started their life together and raised three children in South Gate, CA.

Though the years, she and Tony would welcome and entertain many relatives from Philadelphia. She was always the gracious hostess and tour guide and showed them the many sights of Southern California, San Diego and Las Vegas. Once Tony stopped working, they relocated to Hemet where they enjoyed their retirement. In 2011 they moved back to Santa Clarita to be closer to their children.

Ann is survived by her children: Nunzio DiCorpo, Linda Hughes, Anthony DiCorpo; 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
