Darcy (1931-2017) served on the Santa Clarita City Council from the city's inception in December 1987 until her retirement from the council in April 2002. She served as mayor four times — in 1990, 1995, 1999 and 2000. As of 2017, she is still the only person ever to serve as mayor in consecutive years.
