Dear Dr. lillellon,

I received your most welcomed letter of February I4, 1977
stating that the placque for Mentryville, Landmark No. 516-2
should be ready for our planned celebration on October 8, 1977.

Regarding the Construction of the base, Standard 6fl of California
will take care of the cost of the construction and they are hoping
to use their ,.J!a~ive ~tone of coral rock. Tllere are several questions
still to be fl:li.Milllll.l* answered from you, if you please.

First, the enclosure for the specifications of the base was not in
your letter which we desire as soon as possible so we can get them
to Standard Oil for their approval. We would also li~e information
as to the brass bolts that hold th.e plaeque. Do we purchase them
and are they put in the cement a.t the time of construction of the
base?
