Canyon's principal, Mr. Donald
Jerry, has some very profound
ideas favoring the modular-type
scheduling here. His main argu-
ment asks, "Where are students
going to learn responsibility if not
in school?" With the modular-type
system, the student, aside from his
required courses, has the option to
pick the balance of his credits
needed for graduation. "Through.-
out the schooling careers of youth
today, students have been told
what to do. This extends through
high school." The student has no
opportunity to make any sort of
accurate decisions, which, the ad-
ministration feels are some of the
reasons that many people are un-
able to adapt to society after high
school- both working in the com-
