The members of the board of directors of the Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society visit the Pico Canyon oil town of Mentryville in 1977, when it was still a working oil field. They're standing in front of the 13-room mansion built in the 1890s for the oil field superinendent and his family.
From left: Jerry Reynolds, curator; Frenchy Lagasse, Mentryville resident and oil field foreman; Tom Mason, Merrill Baughman (farthest back), Cynthia Neal-Harris, Frances Sanders, Mimi White. (All persons pictured comprise the totality of the Historical Society board at the time.) Detail below.
