Valencia vs. West Ranch Baseball

The Valencia Vikings varsity baseball team defeated the West Ranch Wildcats 8-1 in their eighth foothill league game on Friday.

The visiting Wildcats struggled to gain offensive momentum due to Vikings pitcher Mitchell Torres and his five scoreless innings.

Valencia’s bats were busy throughout the game. Right handed sluggers Davis Cop and Owen Strader both hit home runs to left field in the first and third innings, raising the score to 6-0 by the end of the third.

The highlights of West Ranch’s performance consisted of a stolen base by Jovan Camacho, an RBI by Ryan Camacho and four hits in total. West Ranch starting pitcher Cade Nicol ended the game with three strike-outs.

The Vikings scored a run in both the fifth and sixth innings, and West Ranch ended the sixth with one run.

After seven innings total,  the Valencia Vikings secured the 8-1 victory, changing their record to 10-6, while West Ranch changes to 12-4.
