More than 30 passengers escaped from a bus engulfed in flames on State Route 14 near Acton, around 8:40 p.m, a Los Angeles County Fire official confirmed.
“(There were) 38 high school girls from the volleyball team, but they didn’t say how many adults,” said Supervising Dispatcher Miguel Ornelas of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“No patients were transported to the hospital,” Ornelas said, explaining that no one was injured.
Four people were treated on scene for shock. “It wasn’t smoke or fire, it was more anxiety.”
The bus caught fire on the southbound side of Highway 14 south of Red Rover Mine Road.
Investigators have yet to determine the cause.
California Highway Patrol officials confirmed that the roadway was clear as of 12:04 a.m.
