Some people may call him Papa Roggin or The Dean. However, Angelenos call him Fred Roggin.

Fred Roggin has been on the local NBC station since 1980 but has been on the airwaves since his college days.

Roggin started his path to Los Angeles back in Globe, Arizona where he was a DJ, and called play-by-play for local high school teams in the area.

“It’s a city of 5000. I went there. I was the night time disc jockey known as Uncle Fred, the kiddies friendly ambassador of mirth and merriment. Plus I did the play-by-play for the local high school team.”

While many know Fred for his sports anchoring on NBC 4, Fred has been about all LA sports. At KLAC AM 570 Roggin and his show partner, former USC quarterback Rodney Peete, deliver one of the most listened to sports talk shows in the afternoon.

To see Fred Roggin tune into the Lunchtime with Roggin & Rodney show Monday-Friday from 12-2 on KLAC AM 570, and also NBC 4 where he covers the sports desk.
