Opinion: Why I personally hate politics

Surrounded by political advocates, both of Trump and Hillary, I’ve come to have a very poor and substandard relationship with politics.

Growing up with Korean parents, one an American citizen and one that’s not, I grew up to care for politics like they did.

And they didn’t.

Prior to this year, I remember that I could care less what the Democratic and Republican party stood for. But what got me interested in the whole discourse of politics were the candidates themselves.

The too-good-to-be true Liberal Bernie Sanders, the misogynistic, racist, ugly, rude and inconsiderate Republican Donald Trump and the lying, suspicious and untrustworthy Democratic Hillary Clinton. Such an amazing pool of people, right?

So as a Christian Korean-American woman who was clearly disinterested in politics, I thought we were truly doomed as a country. I literally considered moving to Korea and attending a Korean-American school there.

My thoughts and opinions on this presidential election? Whoever does win, we’re screwed either way. The worst part of it all is that our society is so technologically connected that this fight will continue even after the winner is announced.

I am one hundred percent sure that if Hillary wins, Trump will spend the rest of his life criticizing and denouncing her.

After divulging and watching the heated debates, my hatred for both candidates deepened further.

I hate Donald Trump a bit more than Hillary because he’s a privileged, rude, foolish, simple-minded, racist, vapid, idiotic, half-witted, unintelligent, senseless, ill-advised, injudicious, imbecile, dumb, moronic and brain-dead human being that shouldn’t be running for President.

He  rather should be worrying about his own failing companies and failing life. These characteristics are not merely personal opinions, because Donald Trump was made sure to show us who he really is.

“You know, it doesn’t really matter what [they] write as long as you’ve got a young and beautiful piece of ass.” Trump in 1991 with Esquire Magazine.

“All of the women on The Apprentice flirted with me – consciously or unconsciously. That’s to be expected.” Trump in 2004.

“If Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.” Trump in 2006 with ABC News.

“I really understand beauty. And I will tell you, she’s not – I do own Miss Universe. I do own Miss USA. I mean I own a lot of different things. I do understand beauty, and she’s not.” Trump in 2007 talking about Angelina Jolie.

“So when he had plenty of money, she liked him. But then after that, not as good, right? Trump calling Anne Hathaway a gold digger in 2008.

“He asked the men to rate the women – he went down the line and asked the guys, ‘Who’s the most beautiful on the women’s team?’” Mahsa Saeidi-Azcuy about Trump’s actions in 2010.

Trump called into TMZ live and said of his penis: “I think Gloria would be very impressed.” Trump April 3, 2012.

“After a six-second silence (an eternity on TV), during which Trump presumably willed some blood to return to his head, he said: “It must be a pretty picture. You dropping to your knee.” March 3, 2012.

“Heidi Klum. Sadly, she’s no longer a 10.” Trump in 2015.

And the best and most recent for last:

Trump hit a new low after the emergence of a video in which he discusses  grabbing women by the “P—-” and states that “when you’re a star, they let you do it.” His early October rant featured Trump using lewd and sexual language to brag about sex with women.

So for the many men and women who advocate Trump. Why? My statement that he’s a misogynistic, racist, biased, ill-advised, senseless and immature boy isn’t baseless. So I’m genuinely curious as to why you want to vote for him.

And that is the story of how my lack of interest in politics was sparked by its very own candidates.

And with that said, I am not voting in this election mainly because I cannot fend for either candidate and simply because I dislike both of them.
