A suspect in a deadly hit-and-run collision on Placerita Canyon Road has surrendered to authorities, California Highway Patrol officials said.
Lucas James Guidroz, 28, was booked Friday morning for an alleged felony hit-and-run in connection with the death of bicyclist Roderick Bennett, 53.
Bennett was riding his bicycle on Placerita Canyon road when a vehicle struck him from behind. The vehicle fled the scene.
The suspect’s car is believed to be a 2014 Lexus, which was found in Canyon Country early around 3:15 a.m. Guidroz turned himself in about an hour later.
Guidroz, a former COC and CSUN student, is scheduled to appear at the North Valley Superior Court in San Fernando on Wednesday.
