Secret Menus at restaurants have become one of the most discussed topics on social media. However; man people will not attempt to order an item on one of these menus out of fear of looking foolish if it turns out to be a hoax.
In an investigative segment I’ve attempted to order several of these off menu items in the Santa Clarita Valley to determine which are in fact real.
The Quesarito at Chipotle, which is essentially a burrito wrapped in a quesadilla, is available at SCV locations and it does add a nice cheesy flavor as well as a crispier tortilla.
In-N-Out is home of one of the most famous secret menu items, Animal Fries, which are French Fries topped with cheese, grilled onions, and thousand island dressing. However; a recent rumor states that if you order “Monkey Style” you’ll get a burger topped with Animal Fries, this is a hoax and does not exist in Santa Clarita.
The last franchise visited was Jack in the Box where I attempted to order a “Double Jumbo Jack,” a Jumbo Jack which features two patties, and “Halfsie Fries,” which is an order of fries that is half traditional French Fries and half Seasoned Curly Fries. Both of these items are real and available in the Santa Clarita Valley. It would appear that you can request additional patties to nearly any burger at Jack in the Box.
While there are several other items on secret menus that I’ve yet to attempt to validate, out of the items inspected a large amount do in fact appear to be real.
