Deputy Brian Rooney Will be giving out free in-home drug testing kits to local families at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Youth Activities League, YAL, today from 2-7 p.m.
YAL is located at 30300 Arlington Road in Val Verde.
The free home drug tests kits valued at $40 each were donated by First Check Diagnostics. The tests will be dispersed along with substance abuse prevention strategies and a family drug prevention plan.
The Sheriff’s Youth Foundation was recently selected by notMYkid®, a national non-profit organization, to launch their Back-to-School Substance Abuse Prevention Campaign in the Los Angeles area. The Campaign is aimed at encouraging parents to drug test their children, with the ultimate goal of opening a dialogue early between youth and their parents about drug use.
