Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a vehicle and pedestrian collision at the intersection of Sierra Highway and Sherzinger Lane in Canyon Country on Tuesday night.
A large crowd surrounded the scene where a small Toyota struck two pedestrians.
“We have one pedestrian down at the scene, and one taken to the hospital in critical condition,” said Detective Thomas Brooks regarding the victims.
It has not been confirmed whether or not the victims were male or female, but according to an eyewitness statement, the victims were jaywalking.
“As I was on the phone with 911, I got out of my car to render aid and saw that the first pedestrian was a male and was unconscious,” said Tyger Rodriguez, witness to the accident. “I went over to the second pedestrian who happened to be a female and was unconscious and came to a few minutes later,” he added.
Officials have yet to confirm the identities of the victims, nor have any criminal charges been pressed.
