On Sunday, Los Angeles County Medical Examiner Coroner personnel discovered skeletal remains by a ravine near the Pine fire by Highway 138 and Old Ridge Route Road in Gorman. The skeletal remains are believed to have been from a male adult.
Detectives determined the victim did not die as a result of the Pine fire based on evidence gathered from the scene but believe “foul play” was involved.
Detectives believe the victim’s body had been at the location for some time, approximately four years now.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner says it “will attempt to identify the remains and the cause of death at a later date.”
The Pine fire began Friday and has burned about 150 acres.
