There were no injuries or damages reported, but the shake was also felt from North Hills, Granada Hills, Chatsworth, Pasadena, Three Points, Lancaster and Palmdale.
“I didn’t feel much but I felt it to the extent where I knew it was an earthquake,” said Granada Hills resident Sandra Harper. “I can imagine that people in the Santa Clarita area felt a pretty good jolt.”
But there were in fact some even in Castaic that didn’t feel the quake.
“My brother called and asked if I was okay, and I had no clue what he was talking about,” said Castaic resident Michelle Perez. “When he told me there was an earthquake I was of course a little surprised, and worst of all, it reinstated my paranoia of living in Los Angeles.”
This was the third earthquake recorded in the Santa Clarita Valley in the last four years, including a 4.3 magnitude quake in 2011 and a 3.9 in 2012, both in Newhall.
