Justin Tilton has spent most of his life playing America’s pastime. Now an 18-year-old college student, he has spent over a decade enjoying the great game of baseball.
Tilton grew up in Palmdale, Calif. and began playing baseball when he was just 6 years old. He moved to Santa Clarita earlier this year to pursue his education and enrich his athletic abilities at The Master’s College.
Growing up, Tilton played little league, and travel baseball. Once in high school, he excelled in the Desert Christian baseball program, earning his place on the varsity team as a freshman.
According to Tilton, his family has played a huge role in helping him grow as a baseball player, as well as a student. His father was particularly influential in his athletic endeavors, offering his knowledge of baseball, countless hours coaching and practicing with Tilton, and providing for him to play on different teams and attend tournaments.
“My personal goal for the year is just to become as good of a baseball player as I can, and feel good and confident,” Tilton stated when asked about his seasonal goals. Tilton’s favorite things about playing baseball at The Master’s College are learning, getting better, and growing as a baseball player while getting to know his teammates. He and his team are looking forward to a great season, and hoping to win conference and go back to Nationals.
