SANTA CLARITA — What is better than food, Cougar football, and spirit? Maybe you can name a lot of things, but for the community of Santa Clarita, it had a ball on Saturday at the COC annual homecoming tailgate party.
Before the red hot COC Cougars beat the Moorpark Raiders 35-17, the Cougar Den hosted a tailgate party for family, friends, and alumni of COC.
The ticket included food such as Jersey Mike’s subs, wings, and Yogurtland. The ticket also included admission to the football game as well.
The community gathered around for not only food, but for fun activities, such as a spirit contest, and a piñata for the children.
With football being absent from COC from 1981-1998, the tailgate is important, in the sense that if football didn’t return to COC, people wouldn’t be able to come together and enjoy some good old-fashioned fun with friends and family.
The event went on right up to the football kickoff at 6 p.m.
