600 Cyclists join Santa Clarita Century

Four waves of cyclists poured into and out of the Valencia Town Center on Saturday.

The Santa Clarita Century is an annual bicycle ride which benefits the Child and Family Center.

The annual event now in its fifth year is a fundraiser comprised of four rides throughout the Santa Clarita Valley.

College of the Canyons Honors Society students supplied snacks and refreshments for the four waves of riders.

Riders cycled throughout the city using a thorough network of trails.

Food trucks serviced the riders and families as they finished the race.

More than 20 local businesses and organizations combined to form an expo, will all proceeds going toward the Child and Family Center.

Austin spent two years in the GVTV television production class at Golden Valley High School — one year on the staff and one year as the student producer. Following graduation in June 2009 he enrolled in the News Media class at College of the Canyons, where he enjoys his position as Web Director of Cougar News Online (CougarNews.com).
