AGUA DULCE – Brianna Trepanier made headlines after winning the California Pro Rodeo Circuit Finals Average and Rookie of the Year.
Trepanier was definitely the long-shot when it came to winning the average and qualifying for the Dodge National Circuit Finals in Oklahoma.
Being the only contestant to run a 15-second time over the course of the three day event not only shocked her, but many of her fellow competitors.
“I think everyone was a little shocked, since no one had ran that fast of a time all weekend,” Trepanier said.
Trepanier traveled all over California last year and plans to continue traveling this year, starting the 2013 rodeo season in Texas.
Her goals for the year include focusing on completing her studies for a degree in Business and Communications and continuing on the road to achieve her goal of being one of the top ranked barrel racers in the world by making the National Finals Rodeo.
“My main goal for the year is just to try to do as well as we did last year,” Trepanier said.
