At approximately 2 p.m., Santa Clarita Sheriff’s deputies pulled over two men in a black BMW 3-series near Sierra Vista Junior High School. During the traffic stop, the passenger fled on Camp Plenty Road toward Stillmore Street. Deputies immediately alerted Sierra Vista officials to school to put the school on lock-down and set up a perimeter to search for the passenger.

The driver was arrested upon search of the vehicle where the deputies found drugs and a water pipe.

After 30 minutes of being unable to locate the suspect, the Sheriff’s Department allowed families to pick up their children. The suspect is still at large.
