LA County Sheriff’s detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying at least one suspect who may be targeting young girls near an elementary school in Valencia and at another location in Newhall.
The first incident which took place on Monday afternoon at Old Orchard Park on Lyons Avenue involved a 10 year old girl who was waiting for a ride from her mother. Sheriff’s officials said the suspect, an African-American male in his late 20’s, told the girl he was sent there to pick her up. The girl ran away and eventually found her mother.
Minutes later, Sheriff’s officials said another girl was was accosted along Wiley Canyon Road near Orchard Village Drive.
The suspect asked the girl if she wanted ice cream and followed her before the girl later hid until the suspect drove off.
Sheriff’s detectives seek the public’s help in identifying the suspect(s) or any other possible victims and/or witnesses.
