Cougars give away six turnovers in 44-37 loss to Ventura

VALENCIA – College of the Canyons lost to the Ventura College Pirates Saturday night at home after a 1-1 road trip to Bakersfield and Antelope Valley. Even though the offense had 545 total yards, Canyons’ quarterback Kasdorf threw four interceptions and the team fumbled twice in a close game to the end.

Ventura College, coming into this game ranked fourth in the state, had better stats on the field. Pirates QB Ebhan Feathers threw 22 for 35 with four touchdowns and 289 passing yards. The Pirates only had 79 yards rushing but had a touchdown as well.

The Cougars (2-5, 1-1) will have a bye week while the Ventura Pirates (7-0, 3-0), who are 7-0 for the second time in school history, will face Cerritos College on Saturday.
