Santa Clarita Street Fair at COC brings vendors closer to new customers

Vendors, exhibitors, gourmet food trucks, live entertainment and a kids’ bouncy house are part of the monthly Santa Clarita Street Fair.
Since November 2010, many local, out of state, and small business vendors make the trip to College of the Canyons parking lot eight to sell their personal products, introduce themselves to the local community and network among fellow vendors.
From arts and crafts, toys, clothing, hats, jewelry, furniture and many more items there is always something for everyone including a Marshmallow Blaster Shooter by Mike Calver.

This is the safe version of a paintball gun by sticking a marshmallow in the back hole and then blowing the back end where the marshmallow is placed with your mouth in order to shoot the marshmallow. “It’s a lot of fun for the kids, it’s safe and plus it’s very cheap,” said Calver.
Another attraction is the variety of food trucks. From Chinese, Greek, Southern and numerous categories of food these vendors our looking to introduce there freshly made meals to the local people.
Owner and Chef of Mossie Lee’s Southern Cuisine, Catherine Vault runs a food truck of southern homemade style food following her roots of her mother’s cooking and upbringing.

Serving smoked barbecue, unique burgers, catfish, macaroni, and a number of homemade dishes Mossie Lees continues to grow introducing their style of southern cuisine to new faces.
“Were growing slowly and having a lot of fun, meeting plenty of nice people,” said Vault. “I enjoy cooking and plus I get to be with my family since it’s a family business.”
Event Coordinator Loren Vallin-Flores has been organizing this event from the beginning. “It gives the city of Santa Clarita something to check out every month,” said Vallin-Flores. “Were making some cool connections and opening a lot of doors to new and different opportunities,”
The next event will be held the weekend of Oct. 27-28 from Saturday 9 a.m. to 5p.m and Sun. 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
