Since its debut in 2010, Instagram has been exclusively offered to iPhone users. Instagram announced Saturday its long anticipated release to the Android port.
First teased for the Android port earlier this month at South by Southwest (SXSW), co-founder Kevin Systrom reported the app has more than 27 million registered users. Mind you that 27 million users accounts for the iPhone alone. Experts expect that number to skyrocket with its release Android release.
Posing the simple question, “want to be first in line,” the sign-up page over at instgr.am raises curiosity. While its unclear whether the sign-up page is to register for early beta access or to simply receive an email notifying of its Android debut, this tease encourages guest to register via email.
Instagram has yet to announce when the Android version will be available for download or which features they plan to included with its launch.
