Ever noticed the old railway cars just off Railroad Ave? Better hurry, because Santa Clarita residents have little time to enjoy a Newhall landmark.
Metrolink directors have voted to remove the 15 cars that have been sitting on a side track for several years.
The railroad cars have lain dormant in the the Metrolink storage area near the Saugus cafe and the company says that is costing Metrolink $225,000 a year.
A Metrolink spokesman says the cars were parked on the track to make way for a more modern and safe rail car.
The company is currently deciding whether to sell the rail cars to another rail provider or sell them for scrap.
The cars were originally purchased from a transit company in New Jersey.
