Dr. Patricia Palavecino is a biology professor here at College of the Canyons. She teaches all subjects of biology from general biology, biology for major students, environmental biology, and zoology.
She loves to teach all these different subjects of biology.
Dr. Palavecino has been teaching at College of the Canyons since 2008. She has been living in the Santa Clarita Valley for 7 years now.
After living in Argentina for her whole life, more than forty years, Dr. Palavecino, her husband and her two sons moved to the Santa Clarita Valley in 2004. The rest of her family still lives in Argentina.
She has always been interested in biology throughout her childhood, but became more interested in biology in high school.
“When I was a high school student, I really had good professors that made me feel interested in everything that has to do with nature and living organisms, I love biology,” said Dr.Palavecino.
All her education is from Argentina. She has a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a PhD in Biology.
Her expertise is with the study of frogs and has been studying her favorite animal for many years. She is also a zoologist and has a love for animals.
She loves to have a good communication with her students. She likes when her students participate in class, but also gets involved with the class and shows an interest for nature.
She understands that it can be difficult to participate, but it is something she likes to do.
When she is not busy grading papers or teaching, Dr. Palavecino enjoys painting, drawing, and going to the movie theaters with her husband.
She also enjoys observing the beautiful nature that the Santa Clarita Valley has to offer.
