A Nissan 350Z plowed into a Newhall gas station this morning. The incident caused extensive damage to the Chevron gas station on the corner of Newhall Avenue and Sierra Highway.
The driver, 30-year-old Travis Kolbo of Newhall and passenger 30-year-old Kimberly Cameron, led police on a short pursuit before driving into the gas station. The car destroyed four gas pumps and a pillar supporting the station’s awning.
The high-speed impact of the accident caused the metal awning to collapse. The car’s forceful blow to the fuel pumps sparked a small blaze as seen in the surveillance footage.
Deputies are awaiting toxicology results.
