Stuntman Attempts Setting World Record

Friends and family all joined in Canyon Country to watch SCV native Jayson Demunigo attempt to break the Guinness World Record for longest full body burn without oxygen.

Denni Dusterhoft

Jayson wanted the attempt to be “to the T” of the previous body burn record. The last record was set by Denni Dusterhoft on December 3, 2010 in Germany. His time was four minutes and forty-five seconds.

Although Jayson did break the world record with a five minute and twenty-six second burn he had to cut the burn early due to the unsettling thought of the unknown.

Even though Jayson was the main act, he couldn’t do it without his team from Action Factory Stunts. They made sure every spot of his body was covered with hydro based gel protecting him from the flames. When the flame was dying, they helped him out by spraying white fuel on the protective suit he wore to keep the flame going.

When it was time to call a quits, the team was ready with the fire extinguishers in hand to put out the flame and to pull off the suit and mask.

With the world record beat, Jayson is now anticipating the results to see if he made the requirements to be in the “Guinness Book of World Records.”
