The baseball season is a week old and the Los Angeles Dodgers season is under way. The team will be playing its home opener at Dodger Stadium Tuesday April 13th against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Now that baseball has started it’s time to start thinking about Santa Clarita Dodger Day. Saturday May 8th is the date for the 33rd annual event at Dodger Stadium, where the Dodgers will
be taking on the Colorado Rockies.

The event is sponsored by the City of Santa Clarita and tickets are available through the events website at www.scvdodgerday.com. Order forms for large groups and fundraising are also available on the website. Ticket prices range from $50 for Baseline Field Boxes to $15 for the Lower Reserve section of the stadium.

The event itself is a great showcase for the Santa Clarita Valley and is also a great chance for local schools and non-profit groups to raise some much-needed funds. Each school or non-profit that’ sells more than 25 tickets will receive a rebate on each ticket sold. The rebates range from $10 to $3 per seat.

One of the highlights of the event happens before the game begins down on the field; when a lucky winner will be able to sing the national anthem before the game.

Audition forms can be downloaded from the website and submissions are due to City Hall by 5:00pm April 9th. Applicants must be Santa Clarita residents to apply.
