VALENCIA – College of the Canyons women’s basketball sophomore guard Kelli Lewis signed a letter of intent with the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California.
Lewis finished the 2011 season leading the Lady Cougars in scoring with 14.7 points a game, steals with 2 a game, and from behind the the arch with a 38 percent. She also finished second on the team in assist with 4.7 a game. The Hart High graduate’s numbers helped her capture First-Team All-State and All-Conference awards earlier in the year. The sophomore has been a key contributor to the success of the team over the last two year as she averaged 11.3 points a game in 2010 and helped COC win two straight Western State Conference Championships with a record of 46-13 over those two years.
Lewis joins former teammate Ashley Wakefield who transferred to Pacific after the 2010 season. Lewis and Wakefield will look to help improve the Tigers in the Big West Conference after a 9-22 campaign overall and 5-11 conference record.
