By Brian Lewis- The College of the Canyons Ice Hockey team took there nineteen and three record up to Lake Tahoe this weekend in hopes to win the Pacific Coast Hockey Association championship.

On Saturday February 6, the Cougars beat Santa Clara 13 to 4 in the Semifinal. In the championship game on Sunday the Cougars beat the Matadors of Cal State Northridge, 6 to 4, taking home their second straight Adams cup.

COC goalie Mike McGrath was awarded the PCHA goalie of the year.

Congratulations to the Cougars on winning their second straight championship.

Austin spent two years in the GVTV television production class at Golden Valley High School — one year on the staff and one year as the student producer. Following graduation in June 2009 he enrolled in the News Media class at College of the Canyons, where he enjoys his position as Web Director of Cougar News Online (CougarNews.com). In his spare time, Austin films and edits projects for local businesses, schools and bands. Video editing and cinematography are his two deepest passions.
