Two Men Hospitalized After Newhall Shooting

Two men were hospitalized after a drive-by shooting between Walnut and Chestnut Streets on 14th Street in Newhall. L.A. County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene after residents reported hearing gunshots late Sunday night.

One of the men, described as a 49 year-old Hispanic man, was found by deputies lying on the ground with gunshot wounds to his chest and arm. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The second man, a 39 year-old Hispanic man, according to deputies, managed to make his way to nearby home. He was taken to a hospital for treatment for gunshot wounds to his chest, arm, and leg.

Investigators searched the scene for evidence and and for possible suspects, but no suspects were found. Investigators do not believe this shooting to be gang-related.
